name in Japan, a name at once intimate, and respectful. Taken at sunset,
with lively Yokohama in the foreground. Mount Fuji is a dormant volcano;
behind the Japanese people's deep attachment to it, and their strong sense
of the beauty of its form, is perhaps the shadow of the feeling that dormant
means precisely that.
